How to Keep Your Tora & Tory Looking Fierce

From a meticulously chosen composition of brass/bronze to the precise layers of pure platinum and gold, mathematically bonded to your piece, every Tora & Tory creation is crafted for everyday wear. While most are designed to withstand time, some require special care. To ensure the utmost longevity of your treasured adornments, we recommend the following:

  • Avoid direct contact with perfumes, cosmetics, creams, or harsh soaps. We suggest putting on your jewellery last—much like a cherry on top!
  • Extreme thermal and physical shock can alter the thick karat gold layers and damage natural stones. Handle with care to preserve the integrity of your piece.
  • Gently wipe away oils and dirt with a soft cloth to maintain its polished finish, ensuring it’s always ready to wear and allowing its natural patina to develop over time. For periodic cleaning, a touch of natural soap diluted in lukewarm water works well—though this should not be part of a daily routine.
  • While brass is structurally more durable than 18k gold, delicate components such as posts, clasps, and filigree require care. Remove your jewellery during sports or strenuous activities to protect both yourself and your piece.
  • Each Tora & Tory creation is accompanied by a lifelong warranty from the date of purchase—whether bought through our e-commerce site, at our pop-ups, or in-store.

A Closer Look at Materials

Transparency is at the heart of Tora & Tory. Every material is rigorously tested for allergens and toxicity, adhering to the stringent standards of the European Union’s REACH regulations. Our metals are meticulously selected, with our signature brass composed of X% copper, X% tin, and X% zinc—a formulation that evolves in compliance with REACH guidelines to prioritise both quality and safety. Plating is fundamental to demi-fine jewellery, and at Tora & Tory, it’s approached with mathematical precision to ensure consistency and lasting brilliance. The process begins with a X µm (micron) layer of pure platinum, creating a strong foundation for the X µm of 24k gold that follows. This is then finished with the universally loved X µm layer of 18k gold, before being sealed with an anti-tarnish coating—preserving its colour and finish against time and environment.
